Wye Valley and Tintern

The Wye Valley and  Forest of Dean have a huge number of activities for the adventurous and not so adventurous! From climbing up the steep cliffs along The River Wye to sitting in one of the traditional country pubs drinking a glass of Prosecco or of course a Kingstone ale! Canoeing, Kayaking and wild swimming are one of the main outdoor activities. You can canoe all along the Wye, finding secluded beaches and swimming in the clear water. Wildlife abounds including Kingfishers, salmon, otters and of course the famous wild boar. You may wake up to find deer walking through our meadows. Mountain bikes can be rented locally and the Forest of dean has some of the most adventurous tracks in the U.K. There are also family trails taking you through the forest.
River and pond fishing is all available in close proximity to the Hop Garden. There are also some amazing castles along the valley. The Offas Dyke Walk and Wye Valley Walk can be joined easily from Tintern. The woods are filled with bluebells in the Spring and streams run everywhere though the woods.The zip line at the National Dive Centre in Chepstow is one of the largest in the country.
The local pubs and restaurants serve good ales and delicious seasonal food. The highlight of your stay could be a visit to The Whitebrook Restaurant a michelin starred  a short drive from Tintern.
